I cannot run the recovery program on a duplicated hard drive. Do I need to run the process from the CD on all the production computers?

On cloned hard drives, the recovery partition is deactivated. To reactivate it, insert your USB dongle into any USB port and (re)boot in to the Recovery System, by pressing F10. Once PC Angel LE is fully loaded and you are presented with the End User License Agreement, the recovery partition has been reactivated. You can simple quit the Recovery System by clicking on "Disagree". If you plan on duplicating the Recovery Parition, please make sure that you select the automatic script to deploy to the user partition(s) automatically. Please read the user guide for more information.

I've downloaded PC Angel LE and I've unzipped it but how do I start the program?

The file inside the Zip file is an ISO image file. It is an "image" of what the CD should look like with all its files.

You should read your user manual for your CD-writing software on how to burn ISO image files.

I've imported my company logos, but why doesn't PC Angel LE rended them on the screen?

The bitmap images need to be uncompressed bitmaps. Refer to the PC Angel LE User Guide for the correct settings. You can find the PC Angel LE user Guide on your PC Angel LE Cds, and in your starter Kit.

Is it possible to burn the recovery partition onto a CD or DVD?

The Recovery Media Creator (RMC) software is no bundled with the latest version of PC Angel LE. RMC allows the end-user to create his or her own recovery CDs or DVDs. The option to install RMC is in the main options screen of the PC Angel LE CD.

Please contact your PC Angel LE representative to find out more information.

Does PC Angel LE Suppor tmultiple user partitions?

Version 1.2 or higher of PC Angel LE fully supports multiple partitions and gives users the option to restore files from each partition.

After installing PC Angel LE, I boot into the Recovery Partition by pressing F10, but PC Angel LE says my Recovery Image is corrupt. How can I fix this?

PC Angel LE 1.3a does not fully support Logical paritions. You need to install the corrective patch.

The current release being shipped 1.3d is Multi-Partition compatible and will detect all parameters and install the recovery device accordingly. Please contact your PC Angel LE representative for more information.

After isntalling PC Angel LE, Windows no longer boots because the "HAL.DLL file in Windows\System32\is missing"/

When you installed PC Angel LE, the Windows parition was not the first partition listed in the Partition Table! This might have been caused by modifying the partition(s) before installing PC Angel LE.

Please make sure you do not modify the partition(s) before installing PC Angel LE.

How can I optimize the use of PC Angel LE?

The resizing of the user partition is a delicate and complex operation. This process takes a lot of resources and PC Angel LE sometimes needs to defragment the hard drive which can take anything from a couple of seconds to several hours.

This process can be optimize by installing Windows on the first 40% of the hard drive.

PC Angel LE then just needs to create the recovery partition, thus skipping the resizing stage completely. Make sure you select the option to extend the user partition so the user partition fill up any empty space.
