While creating the recovery partition, PC Angel LE stops with an error message; "Recovery Partition creation failed. PC Angel LE cannot be used on this computer....."!

The partition setup is not compatible with PC Angel LE. If you have unallocated space between partitions or non-formatted partitions, please format these partitions before using PC Angel LE.

I get a warning message, saying that my virtual drive is running low on space and PC Angel LE stops shortly afterwards. Why do I have this message?

PC Angel LE needs at least 128 Mbytes of memory to successfully create a recovery partition. If your video card is sharing system memory on the motherboard, use the BIOS to reduce the amount of memory shared. 4 Mbytes shared works in some cases. If not, add system memory, create the recovery partition and remove the memory afterwards.

After creating a recovery partition, why don't I have the boot prompt I selected?

The BIOS might be protecting the Master Boot Record. You may need to deactivate the Anti-Virus option in the BIOS before using PC Angel LE. You should also disconnect all secondary storage devices. This includes USB/Firewire devices, external hard drives and all removable storage devices. You can boot from the PC Angel LE CD and choose "Update" to correctly install the PC Angel LE Master Boot Record.

I have a small hard drive with a FAT32 system partition. After installing PC Angel LE, the computer alternates booting between Windows and PC Angel LE and there is no PC Angel LE boot message. How can I fix this?

PC Angel LE supports a FAT32 partition of type 0x0C. On hard drives smaller than 10 gigabytes, you might find your FAT32 partition as type 0x0B. You need to change the type of this partition to type 0x0C.

While browsing for the Recovery Media Creator logo, why isn't my BMP file displayed?

PC Angel LE is looking for a ".bmp" extension. You should change the filter to search for "*.bmp" files. You can simply type the name of your file in the file name box.

While booting on the PC Angel LE CD, I get a text message "NO ACPI". Why can't I use PC Angel LE on this computer?

Your HAL type was not detected. Please reboot from your PC Angel LE CD and press F7 during the test progress bar to auto-detect your HAL type.

If that doesn't work, please reboot and press F5 during the text progress bar to manually choose your HAL type.

I installed Windows on an IDE hard disk with one single partition but PC Angel LE displays an error message and cannot detect my Windows installation.

While creating a new partition, Windows sometimes leaves unallocated space at the beginning of the hard drive. PC Angel LE does not support this partition setup.

You need to recreate the partition without non-allocated space at the beginning of the hard drive.

PC Angel LE stops at the beginning of the "Creating PC Angel LE Recovery Image" step (final) and displays several messages and then generates a "C++ Runtime error".

This can occur when the final partition on the hard drive is a FAT32 partition and there is unallocated space found on the hard drive.

You will need to recreate or resize the FAT32 partition to take up the entire space of the hard drive.

PC Angel LE has a problem installing a recovery partition on a large hard drive, bigger than 136 Gigabytes. How can I add support for large hard drives?

Your PC Angel LE CD has been created with a Windows OEM Preinstallation Kit for Windows XP without the latest Service Pack integrated. Please use a newer version of your OEM Preinstallation Kit (OPK SP2).
