When I try and use my recovery CDs created with RMC, I get an error message saying that the CDs are not be used with my PC and I cannot boot on the CDs!

The RMC recovery CDs are locked to a signature on the PC. You need to add the signature using the DiskProg utility on the CD Builder CD or from the PC Angel Solutions website. Microsoft recommends using this system for anti-piracy reasons. The default signature for Recovery Media Creator is "PC-Angel-LE". You can always read the signature from the hard drive by using the DiskProg.exe utility found on the CD Builder CD.

What CD and DVD writers are supported by Recovery Media Creator?

The Recovery Media Creator (RMC) offers a uniques and universal CD and DVD writer support. This gives RMC the ability to create recovery media for the end-user using almost any CD or DVD writer available today. Since the CD and DVD writing standard does not change rapidly, you may find that RMC is able to create media on newly developed CD and DVD writers.

How do I create an automatic "System-Lock bootable floppy disk" to lock my RMC CD/DVDs?

You need to use the "DiskProg" utility, found on the CD Builder CD. Type in your RMC signature, "PC-Angel-LE" by default, and click on "Create System-Lock bootable floppy disk" ...". Insert a floppy diskette and select the "Create an MS-DOS startup disk" option. Click on "Start".

How can I optimize the use of PC Angel LE?

The resizing of the user partition is a delicate and complex operation. This process takes a lot of system resources and PC Angel LE sometimes needs to defragment the hard drive which can take anything from a couple of seconds to serveral hours. This process can be optimized by installing Windows on the first 40% of the hard drive.

PC Angel LE then just needs to create the recovery partition, thus skipping the resizing stage completely. Make sure you select the option to extend the user partition so that the user partition fills up any empty space.
